Almond Valley Heritage Trust is charity established as a company limited by guarantee in 1990, but with volunteer and community roots that stretch back to the early 1970's. Our mission is:
"to preserve and interpret the history and environment of West Lothian and make this heritage accessible, engaging and enjoyed by all"
We are a fully accredited museum with a collection that is recognised as being of national importance to Scotland. We work in partnership with West Lothian Council to deliver a museum service for the county.
Almond Valley is operated as a popular leisure destination that appeals to a diverse audience and promotes learning through discovery, family interaction and play. We also operate a formal education programme.
As an effective community enterprise we generate income to invest in the continual improvement of facilities and services. We currently welcome over 120,000 visitors each year and have ambitious plans for continued growth and development.
