teambuilding tasks

Every year we're pleased to welcome many corporate groups who choose to spend a day at Almond Valley wielding paintbrushes, spades and rakes. Sometimes this work is structured as a team challenge, on other occasions it's a more relaxed opportunity for groups of colleagues to work together for the community.

Especially during good weather, there are many opportunities to build paths, plant hedges and undertake many more environmental tasks. We provide tools, direction and other support. Where a group is able to contribute towards the costs of materials, this greatly extends what can be achieved. For further information please e-mail or telephone and ask for Elaine.

Friends and Corporate Membership

There are two great ways of supporting the Trust whilst enjoying unlimited admission to Almond Valley.

Friends Membership is designed for individuals and families. It is a non-transferable benefit that allows free admission to those named on the membership card. The annual cost depends on the number of individuals named on the card (£20.00 for each adult, £12.50 for each child). Child memberships are only issued as part of a family ticket. Corporate Membership is greatly more flexible, and can be passed from person to person admitting any two adults and up to four children on presentation of the card. Originally designed as an employee benefit that might be purchased by staff associations or groups of colleagues, it is increasingly used by caring groups and childminders who may wish to bring different children on different occasions. Cards cost of £150 each, or five for £600. Download a Corporate Membership Form.

It is a strict condition of both Friends and Corporate Membership that the card must be shown on every occasion to gain admission. If you forget your card you will need to pay standard admission. If a card is lost, or details require alteration, a new card may be issued at a charge of £5 per card. Memberships provide free admission to Almond Valley during normal opening hours, but do not cover features such as rides and soft play sessions that are additional to the standard admission charge.

volunteering

As one of the benefits of Friends membership, children and parents can join the Young Farmer's Club and lend a hand caring for the farm animals. Morning and afternoon sessions take place most weekends. Children and parents first complete an induction training to ensure that everyone works safely, then can book for Young Farmer sessions. Further information and an application form can be downloaded here.

young farmers

Volunteers have always contributed much to the activities at Almond Valley. Unfortunately our capacity to accept and train new adult volunteers to work safely on the farm is limited, and normally has to be reserved for those with a background knowledge of farming practice who are seeking specific work experience.
