During
the school holidays, and at other happy times, there are often
additional events and activities taking place that add to
the fun.
Here's the programme
for 2010:
The First Tingles of Spring
Saturday 13th February - Sunday 21st February
In the warmth of the museum make stunning snowdrop hats, fine
flowery bird feeders and perhaps meet the first chicks of
the year.
Easter
Eggcitement
Friday 2nd April – Sunday 18th April
Springtime adventures for the Easter holidays with hidden
clues, a treasure trail, springtime crafts and games, plus
the chance to meet the new arrivals on the farm. Our famous
plastic duck race takes place on 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th
of April.
Wild
Adventures
Daily from Saturday 26th June until Sunday 22nd August
The
lives of our ancient ancestors will be celebrated in a summer-long
programme of activities for children and their families, allowing
everyone to play their part in recreating a prehistoric encampment.
Workshop sessions will be run every day to teach the skills
essential for prehistoric living, and each day a little more
will be added to the settlement. There’s a shelter and
fences to be build, crops to plant, and livestock to tend.
And between all of this hard work there’s need to make
fire, prepare food, make clothing and bedding, and even go
hunting.
Spooky
Happenings
Saturday 9th October – Sunday 31st October
A little horror for the autumn holidays when the darkest and
scariest corners of the old mill and farm buildings become
the abode of unearthly creatures intent on horrible fun. Follow
the trail of terror and win a small prize for your bravery,
join in creepy crafts, gruesome games, and have a spine-tingling
good time.
Friday
Fright Night
Friday 29th October 6pm-9pm
Doors re-open after dark for horrible performances, candlelit
trails, the ghost train and traditional Halloween games. Come
dressed to kill.
Santa
at Almond Valley
Weekends, 4th & 5th, 11th & 12th, 18th & 19th
December plus the 23rd and 24th of December.
Meet Santa in his cottage in the forest, receive an early
Christmas present, join in Christmas crafts and enjoy the
magic of a traditional Christmas.
