Almond Valley

It's a wonderful day of adventure and play

The fields, woods and green spaces of the Almond Valley site extend either side of the river Almond for nearly a mile. At its heart lies the historic buildings of Livingston Mill and the associated Mill Farm. This is home to many friendly farm animals who are always keen to introduce themselves to visitors. Elsewhere on site, there are all manner of unique and imaginative play spaces set among the fields and gardens.

There’s loads to see and do in all weathers. We’re particularly proud of our new Paraffin Works play area set beneath a giant umbrella, and there’s also indoor soft play and other under-cover features, including our museum displays and activity spaces.

It’s a brilliant day out, especially for families. Come along and find out for yourself.

What's happening in September?

The summer holidays are now just a memory, but there's still loads to see and do at weekends, and during the September half-term break. Weekend events include:

  • Small animal encounters at 11.30 and 15.00
  • Meet the alpacas at 13.00
  • Train and trailer rides

Pressing Business !

Help extract juice from our home-grown apples at 11.00 and 14.00 during the school half-term (13th -17th September).

In the museum

This month, we'll be studying tackety boots and investigating a dastardly crime. Person or persons unknown have put the boot into a display case, stolen a masterpiece of the cobbler's craft, then legged it hotfoot, and are still on the run. Confused? So are we.

Silly scary fun for the October school holidays, a terrifying fright night, and a Halloween party. Find out more.

Dear old Santa returns again. Pop in for a chat and a present, or join him for breakfast or tea. Find out more.

A spectacular after-dark world of fire and light, as pixies bring magic to dark December evenings. BOOK NOW.
