Almond Valley Heritage Centre – Scotland’s only approved Rare Breed Farm Park and conservation charity – is launching a new Sponsor a Breed programme in response to growing interest from people who share our love of animals and conservation.

Designed for children and families, the programme helps young minds learn about rare breeds, nurturing empathy, kindness and understanding while inspiring the next generation of conservationists. It also offers a fun and rewarding way for supporters to make a meaningful difference to our small charity.

Almond Valley plays a vital role in protecting native rare and traditional breeds that are essential to a healthy, resilient planet. Alongside these breeds, we care for a wide range of animals, providing expert care, education and hands-on experiences that create lasting connections between people and nature.

By Sponsoring a Breed, supporters directly contribute to the care and protection of the animals who call our farm home. Every penny goes straight back into the farm, supporting animal welfare, conservation, education and habitat protection helping safeguard rare breeds today and inspire future animal carers and conservationists.

The programme offers tiered sponsorship options, allowing supporters to begin their journey as a Breed Buddy, sponsoring their favourite animal and taking their first step into conservation care. For those who choose to continue their journey, there is the opportunity to grow into a Breed Ambassador, expanding their knowledge, deepening their engagement, and playing a greater role in supporting our animals and rare breed conservation work.

Whatever level of sponsorship people choose, their support will make a real difference, enabling Almond Valley to plan ahead, strengthen animal care, and expand our conservation work for the future.
