By booking your admission ticket online, in advance, you not only save time on arrival, but also guarantee your admission, particularly during weekends and holidays when we can book up fairly quickly.

We’re just two miles from junction 3 of the M8, the main Edinburgh to Glasgow motorway. Just follow the brown tourist signs for “Almond Valley Heritage Centre”.
Where possible we encourage active travel, so please explore opportunities to use public transport or why not walk or pedal if distances allow!

Get on your bike: A cycle rack is situated next to the visitor entrance.
Disabled parking bays are positioned directly in front of the visitor entrance.
There are a limited number of blue badge parking spaces at the entrance to the main building, and there is level access into the main reception building through doors that are 900mm wide. All other buildings on site are on a single level and are fully accessible, other than a small cellar in the watermill, most of which can be viewed from outside.
There are no steps in any of the main circulation routes around the site, although there is a modest slope in front of the mill buildings. All pathways are hard surfaced, or have a rolled-stone finish. There are toilet cubicles with wide entrances and rails in the main farm toilets, and accessible unisex toilets in the cafe, the threshing barn, and the soft play area.
Play facilities cater for all abilities, but include some active play equipment, such as swings and slides, which are particularly suited for those with impaired mobility. Some areas can get noisy and boisterous on busy days, but there are always quiet places throughout our large site that are calmer and less complicated.
Other than a tiny area downstairs in one of the mill buildings, all of Almond Valley is wheelchair and buggy accessible. Light levels are medium throughout the buildings. Some outdoor pathways can be uneven and/or wet/muddy. There is level access to the Museum galleries. Light levels are medium to low.
Assistance dogs are permitted on site.

Ever wanted to get up close and personal with majestic Clydesdale horses, Polecat Ferrets, Bagot Goats, and Donkeys? Our rare breed farm is home to all of the above breeds and many more too! They are a very friendly bunch and they love nothing more than making new friends, so ensure you make time to pop in and say hello.

The site is so diverse that there really is something for all the family but the adventure zones and play areas are most suitable for toddlers through to age 11 and of course those who are just young at heart.
Yes please! Avoid disappointment and also help us to operate efficiently by booking in advance online. If you need to change your booking you can do so directly through your booking link.
Remember, school holidays and weekends sell out in advance so if you can plan ahead.
Sorry – for the safety of our livestock, and the comfort of other visitors, dogs are not permitted on site. Assistance dogs that are accompanying a disabled person are welcome.
We kindly suggest that assistance dogs wear a harness or jacket so that their purpose is instantly recognisable.
Yes, free parking is available but during weekends and school holidays we encourage you to check our socials and the website for updates on capacity.
Bottle/baby food warming facilities are available in the café. Please be advised we are unable to take responsibility for the temperature.
Nappy changing facilities are available in our toilet facilities.
During school holidays and at weekends, yes! We’re increasingly selling out tickets in advance and we want to ensure that are members maintain easy access, so an allocation of member tickets is reserved for you to book online ahead of your visit.
Don’t forget you must bring your membership card with you.
Not at all, we have plenty of indoor play spaces for families to enjoy come rain or shine. Some of the outdoor play zones may be closed in the event of severe weather to ensure your safety.
Bikes, scooters and balance bikes are not allowed on site. Bikes can be left at the rack outside the main building.
We certainly do and what’s more we grow a lot of our own produce here on site and work with local suppliers to ensure the best locally source produce is used and to support our local economy.
