VAT reduction for Visitor Attractions this summer

On 21 May this year, the UK Government announced a temporary reduced rate on VAT of 5% that will apply to:
· certain supplies of children’s meals
· children’s admission to theatres, cinemas, concerts, exhibitions and shows
· all admission tickets to certain attractions suitable for families with children
The reduced rate will apply from Thursday 25 June to Tuesday 1 September 2026 (inclusive) and is intended to reduce the costs of activities over the summer period.
What this means for your visit to Almond Valley
As a registered charity, we are already exempt from VAT on our tickets. As such, the VAT reduction this summer doesn’t impact our admission price.
We do pay VAT on soft play and children’s meals, which means we can pass these savings directly to you until 1 September 2026.
· Soft play admission is now reduced from £2 to £1.70 per hour
· Children’s meals are reduced by 15%
We work hard to keep our prices low at Almond Valley so as many people as possible can enjoy the heritage, play and adventure available on site, and being VAT-exempt helps us to keep prices low all year round.
As a charity, we rely on income from admissions to ensure we can keep the site running, supporting education, heritage and our beloved Rare Breed Farm.
